WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) today released his public schedule for this coming weekend, which includes several events across central and southern Maine.
On Friday, March 28th, Senator King will offer opening remarks at the Family Business Forum at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. The event provides education, networking, and consulting services to Maine business owners and employees. Later in the day, the Senator will attend and speak at a Naturalization Ceremony for 71 candidates spanning 33 countries at the Middle School of the Kennebunks.
On Saturday, March 29th, Senator King will present Captain Lester Slate, a retired pilot from Exeter, Maine, with several service medals, including the prestigious Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal for his acts of heroism during World War II. Senator King’s office helped secure the medals for Captain Slate, and the ceremony will be held in Senator King’s Augusta office. Also on Saturday, the Senator will attend the annual Maine Sportsmen’s Show in Augusta and a ribbon cutting ceremony of The Summit Project’s Fallen Heroes Memorial at the Maine Military Entrance Processing Station in Portland.
