This Week in Washington: Procedural Disagreements, Meetings with Maine Students, Situation in Iraq

PORTLAND, ME – As part of his ongoing effort to keep the people of Maine informed of his work in Washington, U.S. Senator Angus King recapped this week’s events in the nation’s capital.

In his weekly address, Senator King discussed:

  • The frustrating procedural issues that have stalled appropriations legislation on the Senate floor.
  • His meetings with impressive young people from around Maine – including Connor Hoehle from Yarmouth, Kendra Sprague from Lewiston, and middle school students from Berwick and Poland.
  • The situation in Iraq, which he is actively monitoring as a member of both the Armed Services and Intelligence Committees.
