WASHINGTON, D.C. – In his continued effort to keep folks at home up to date with his work in Washington, U.S. Senator Angus King took a few minutes to discuss the events of this past week in the nation’s capital.

In his weekly recap, Senator King addressed: 

• His frustration with recent Republican filibusters that have prevented the confirmation of judicial nominees to the D.C. District Court of Appeals.

• His recent proposal to the budget conference committee, which he believes may lay the foundation for a bipartisan agreement.

• The National Defense Authorization Act, which the Senate is expected to take up next week, and which also contains several important priorities for Maine’s shipbuilding and footwear industries.
