WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $1,021,441 to the Maine Primary Care Association (MPCA). This funding was allocated through the Department’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
“For more than 35 years, MPCA has worked to strengthen Maine health centers and provide high-quality, affordable health care to Mainers across the state,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “This investment will continue to provide critical support for these facilities and help ensure people throughout Maine receive care they deserve.”
MPCA represents Maine’s Community Health Centers, which provide primary and preventive medical, behavioral, and dental services for one in six Mainers.
HRSA is an agency within HHS that is tasked with improving access to health care by building healthy communities, strengthening the health care workforce, and achieving health equity. HRSA’s Health Cluster programs targets the economic and medically vulnerable as well as the geographically isolated.
