Senators Collins, King Announce Funding for Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins, Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, and Angus King announced grant funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA) in Brunswick. The $2,646,904 in funding is part of the FAA’s Military Airport Program, and will be used to rehabilitate the Brunswick Executive Airport (BXM).

“Maine's aviation infrastructure keeps its residents connected with the rest of the country and the world,” said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement. “This funding will support the necessary upgrades and developments to improve air travel services and safety at Brunswick Executive Airport."

The FAA’s Military Airport Program provides grant funding to assist converting former military airfields to public use.
