WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Angus S. King, Jr. (I-ME) today congratulated sixteen Maine hospitals for receiving an “A” grade in The Leapfrog Group’s most recent round of Hospital Safety Scores. The Leapfrog Group is an independent, national not-for-profit organization founded more than a decade ago by the nation’s leading employers and private healthcare experts. Hospitals awarded an “A” rating are those that are recognized for providing the highest standard of safety and care to their patients.
“Maine’s hospitals deliver excellent care and support each and every day,” Senator King said. “This announcement is an affirmation of that extraordinary work and I join with the Leapfrog Group in recognizing and applauding the outstanding achievements of these hospitals.”
The following hospitals received an “A” grade:
Cary Medical Center, Caribou
Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston
Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor
Henrietta D. Goodall Hospital, Sanford
Inland Hospital, Waterville
Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth
Maine General Medical Center-Waterville Campus, Waterville
Mercy Hospital of Portland, Portland
Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick
Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta
Parkview Adventist Medical Center, Brunswick
Pen Bay Medical Center, Rockport
Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford
St. Joseph Hospital of Bangor, Bangor
St. Mary's Regional Medical Center of Maine, Lewiston
The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle
