PORTLAND, ME – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Angus S. King, Jr. (I-Maine) joined with the owners and employees of the Bethel Inn Resort to congratulate them on one hundred years of exceptional service to the greater Bethel region. In celebrating the milestone achievement, Senator King also gathered with business and community leaders for a roundtable event at the resort, where he discussed his first months in the U.S. Senate, as well as ways to strengthen the local and state economy.
“It was a pleasure to join with local business and community leaders to discuss a path towards continued economic prosperity for the greater Bethel region and the State of Maine,” said Senator King. “In fact, it couldn’t have been more appropriate that our roundtable was held at the Bethel Inn Resort, which is proudly celebrating its one hundredth anniversary. The resort and its hardworking staff are emblematic of the tremendous and longstanding success that can be achieved when great ideas meet stellar service. Our discussion was reflective of that belief and focused on common-sense ways that we can work together to strengthen our economy. I look forward to taking their ideas back to Washington.”
