BRUNSWICK, ME – U.S. Senator Angus King released the following statement today on the passing of Geneva “Jean” Michaud, mother of Congressman Mike Michaud:

“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Jean Michaud, who by all accounts was a warm and loving woman, and whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of those fortunate to know her.

“Indeed, all who knew Jean recall with great fondness her sense of humor, her love of politics and public service, and her unflagging desire to help others. Her devotion to her friends, to her community, and above all, to her beloved family is and always will be a testament to her extraordinary character. Maine has certainly lost a dear friend today.

“My thoughts and prayers are with Congressman Michaud and his entire family during this difficult time.”
