WINDSOR, ME – Today, U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) joined with thousands of motorcycle-riding Mainers for the United Bikers of Maine 33rd Annual Toy Run. King, an avid biker, rode from the Augusta Civic Center to the Windsor Fair in support of the annual event in which participating riders carry unwrapped toys that are donated to less fortunate children during the holiday season. King then spoke to the crowd following the event.
“The Toy Run is a great example of generosity, and it’s such a testament to the heart and character of the people of Maine,” Senator King said. “Because of today, countless kids across Maine will have smiles on their faces this holiday season. It’s always a great time to ride, but when it’s for a good cause, that’s a real bonus. I thank the United Bikers of Maine for organizing another great event.”
The Toy Run, which is organized by the United Bikers of Maine, is the state’s largest one-day charitable donation drive. King previously participated in several Toy Runs when he was governor.
