King Launches Medium Page, In First Post Highlights Importance of Paid Family Leave

AUGUSTA, ME -- Today, U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) shared his first post on the online publishing platform Medium. In the post, which can be viewed HERE, Senator King discusses last month’s 25th anniversary of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the importance of paid leave for the American workforce.

“Throughout my time in the Senate, I’ve made it a priority to keep the people of Maine informed of my work,” Senator King said. “Medium grants me another tool to communicate my priorities and action on the issues facing our state. My first post, on the importance of paid family leave, does just that; I hope you’ll give the piece a read, and stay tuned for future updates!”

King’s post today is from his Weekly Column, which is regularly distributed to the newspapers that serve many Maine communities. King plans to use this account as a home for many of those columns, and will also provide additional periodic updates related to his work in Washington on behalf of the people of Maine.
