WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) announced that his Maine Press Secretary, Jack Faherty, is shifting from his role as a spokesman for Senator King. Faherty, who was stationed in Maine since January, has returned to Washington, D.C. to serve on Senator King’s legislative team with a focus on foreign policy and military affairs. In addition, Jeff Sobotko will now serve as Deputy Communications Director, after nearly two impactful years as Press Secretary and Director of Digital Media.
“Over the past three years, Jack has done a tremendous job of making sure Maine people know where I stand and what I’m doing to address the issues affecting them,” said Senator King. “I’m beyond grateful for his work on behalf of the State of Maine, and thrilled he will be remaining a part of our team as he transitions to a legislative position focusing on national security. Jeff has been a stand out for my office in his time here, his skill set continues to expand and his role with it. Whenever I have trouble finding the right words, I know that Jeff can find them for me and help convey the important work of my entire team.”
Moving forward, reporters with inquiries for Senator King’s office should reach out to Communications Director Matthew Felling or Deputy Communications Director Jeff Sobotko.
