King Announces Connery Dawe as New Communications Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Angus King announced today that he has hired Kathleen Connery Dawe to serve as Director of Communications in his Washington, D.C. office.

“I am excited to welcome Kathleen to my team,” Senator King said. “She is an experienced communicator who brings the kind of knowledge and communications experience that will well-serve the people of Maine.”

“At a time when Washington seems paralyzed by partisanship, Senator King offers a brand of pragmatic leadership that's based on a willingness to work hard, find common ground, and get the job done for Maine and for the country. I'm delighted and honored to be part of his team,” Kathleen Connery Dawe said.

A seasoned veteran of Capitol Hill, Kathleen assumes the helm of Senator King’s Communications Department with more than a decade of political and media communications experience, including nearly five years as Communications Director for former U.S. Representative Rahm Emanuel.

She most recently served as an Associate at Mayer Brown in Washington, D.C. where she represented a wide variety of clients on litigation matters, legislative issues, and federal election law.

Kathleen joins Press Secretary Scott Ogden and Deputy Press Secretary Margaret Williams to complete Senator King’s Communications Department.
