In Halloween-Themed October Podcast, King Highlights Maine’s Tricks and Treats

BRUNSWICK, ME – U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) today released the October edition of his podcast, Inside Maine with Senator Angus King. In this special Halloween edition, Senator King speaks with Sally Lobkowicz, also known as the “Lady in the Red Cloak,” about her haunted history tours in Midcoast Maine and the way Maine’s history can help build community and drive tourism. Senator King then speaks to Tom and Andy Wilbur, the father-son duo behind Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections in Freeport and Brunswick, about the history and growth of their business.

“Halloween is best celebrated with scares and sweets, and Maine has both in droves,” Senator King said. “I hope my conversations with Sally about Maine’s spookier history and with Tom and Andy about how they came to be two of Maine’s chocolatiers will provide Inside Maine’s listeners with a better understanding of the tricks and treats that can be enjoyed by Maine locals and visitors alike. Maine is such a beautiful state with so much to offer – I always enjoy finding interesting ways to encourage tourism and investments in our local economy.”

The “Inside Maine Podcast with Senator Angus King” is a 30-minute program that aims to help keep Maine people informed about issues of the day, how they affect life in the state, and how they factor into Senator King’s work as one of two independents in the U.S. Senate. Senator King’s podcast builds on his existing radio show that airs on Newsradio WGAN in Portland, Maine between 10 and 11 a.m. on almost every last Saturday of the month. The Inside Maine Podcast with Senator Angus King is available for free in iTunes and on Senator King’s website.
