WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced today that eighteen community health centers across Maine will receive a total of $963,623 in federal funding to support their operations and provide quality health care services.
“Access to high-quality, affordable health care is essential to the well-being of Mainers across the state. That’s why investing in community health centers is so important,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “These federal grants will continue to provide critical support for these facilities and help give people throughout Maine the care they deserve.”
The grants are allocated as follows:
- Bucksport Regional Health Center will receive $50,805
- DFS Russell Medical Center in Leeds will receive $47,157
- Eastport Health Care will receive $47,077
- Fish River Rural Health in Eagle Lake will receive $50,253
- Harrington Family Health Center will receive $40,000
- HealthReach Community Health Centers in Waterville will receive $74,886
- Health Access Network in Lincoln will receive $57,009
- Island Community Medical Center in Vinalhaven will receive $41,862
- Katahdin Valley Health Center in Patten will receive $55,495
- Maine Migrant Programs in Augusta will receive $43,813
- Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor will receive $117,831
- Pines Health Services in Caribou will receive $56,791
- Portland Community Health Center will receive $48,887
- Regional Medical Center at Lubec will receive $44,353
- Sacopee Valley Health Center in Parsonsfield will receive $47,027
- Sebasticook Family Doctors in Newport will receive $51,431
- York County Community Action Corps will receive $45,640
- St. Croix Regional Family Health Center in Princeton will receive: $43,306
The grant funding is awarded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that is charged with improving access to health care by building healthy communities, strengthening the health care workforce, and achieving health equity.
