Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the U.S. Navy has awarded Stantec Consulting Services $4,914,828 for architect-engineering services for the dry dock number one superflood basin at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) in Kittery.
“This announcement is welcome news for the hardworking men and women of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard,” said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement. “This design contract will help prepare for later military construction at the shipyard, and we applaud the Navy for continuing to plan for future investments in PNSY, the Maine economy, and our national defense.”
This competitively-awarded contract will support the design of dry dock #1 superflood basin at PNSY. All work on this contract will be performed at various Navy and government facilities within the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic area of responsibility. The work for this task order is expected to be completed by August 2022.
Senator Collins is a senior member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, and Senator King is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Stantec Consulting Services is an international professional services company in the design and consulting industry, and has local offices in Topsham, Scarborough, and Caribou. It is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.
