WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $598,827 in federal grant funding to the State Veterans Home in South Paris. The grant will help cover renovation costs for the facility’s heating units, patio, and flooring.
“Maine’s veterans deserve nothing but the highest quality of care, and providing outstanding rehabilitative facilities is central to that important mission,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “These critical funds will help to do that by directly supporting the renovation and improvement of the State Veterans Home in South Paris.”
Built in July of 1995, the State Veterans Home in South Paris is one of six multi-service veterans facilities in Maine.
