WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Ranking Member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, and U.S. Senator Angus King today announced that Caribou Municipal Airport will receive a grant totaling $1,894,695 from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the purpose of runway rehabilitation.
“Caribou Municipal Airport supports the region's economy and also serves as a vital link for emergency patients from Cary Medical Center and northern Maine hospitals to hospitals in southern Maine and Massachusetts,” Senator Collins and King said. “This funding will help make necessary improvements and maintain a safe operational environment at the airport.”
