Collins, King Announce $727,846 in Funding for Greater Portland Health

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded two grants totaling $727,846 to Greater Portland Health. The Department’s Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) will grant $581,024 to Greater Portland Health through its Health Center Cluster program and $146,822 through its Ryan White Part C Outpatient EIS program.

“Community health centers, like Greater Portland Health, help Mainers across our state receive the high quality care they deserve,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “These federal grants offer critical support for people in the Greater Portland area, and we applaud HHS for recognizing Greater Portland Health’s commitment to the surrounding community.”

HRSA is an agency within HHS that is tasked with improving access to health care by building healthy communities, strengthening the health care workforce, and achieving health equity. HRSA’s Health Cluster programs targets the economic and medically vulnerable as well as the geographically isolated. The Ryan White Part C Outpatient EIS Program funds primary care for those living with HIV.
