WESTBROOK, ME – Today, U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) toured IDEXX Laboratories’ new and pioneering Synergy Center at the company’s World Campus in Westbrook. The innovative $35 million expansion project, which was completed in June to coincide with the company’s 30th anniversary, features a wellness center for employees, as well as open work space to encourage a collaborative and more dynamic work environment.
“As IDEXX has adeptly recognized, a company doesn’t always have to just be a place where someone punches a clock from 9-5 to bring home a paycheck,” Senator King said. “Instead, by creating an environment that supports the health and wellness of employees and that fosters a collaborative approach to work, it can really bring out the best in people, which is good for them and good for business. I am very encouraged by forward-thinking Maine companies like IDEXX that will continue to spur development and create good-paying jobs here in Maine – all while having a significant impact across the globe.”
IDEXX is a global medical technology company founded and headquartered in Maine that develops, manufactures, and commercializes products with a focus on animal health, water quality, and food safety.
