The American Rescue Plan included $160 billion in essential funding to directly address the COVID-19 pandemic, giving us the resources needed to control the virus and vaccinate the American people.
In Maine, this has meant:
- $11 million to build infrastructure for community health centers.
- Nearly $1 million to improve testing in Maine’s at-risk communities.
- $41 million in funding to improve the state's health system.
- Funds to make health insurance more affordable.
- Support for vaccination, testing, tracing, and other key medical needs required to control the virus.
- With more still to come.
Now, thanks in part to this funding, Maine is one of the nations leaders in vaccination – with over 75% of eligible Maine people being fully vaccinated.
